Valve recently announced the Steam Deck handheld gaming device, which ”brings the Steam games and features you love to a powerful and convenient form factor.”
According to the website, Valve has partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck's custom accelerated processing unit (APU) for “the most powerful, full-featured gaming handheld in the world.”
Steam Deck is offered in three models at the following price points; however, the website says there is “no in-game difference in frame rates or graphics quality between the three models.”
- $399 (64GB eMMC internal storage)
- $529 (256GB NVMe SSD internal storage)
- $649 (512GB NVMe SSD internal storage)
The Steam Deck also features a 7-inch touchscreen display, stereo speakers, a 40 watt-hour battery, and a USB-C jack for charging, peripherals, or screencasting. Devices can be pre-ordered now with shipping scheduled for December 2021.
