At last week’s re:Invent, AWS announced that they will provide customers with the carbon footprint of their use of AWS services. The tool, which will be available next year, is intended to support customers’ efforts to meet carbon-reduction goals.
AWS also announced Karpenter, an open source autoscaling tool for Kubernetes clusters. Karpenter uses Helm to analyze Kubernetes workloads and determine which pods cannot launch due to a resource limitation. It then sends information to your cloud provider to add or remove compute resources.
