O’Reilly has published the results of their 2021 Data/AI Salary Survey, stating that the average salary for data and AI professionals was $146,000.
Compensation for women in the industry was significantly lower than for men, however, with women earning 84 percent of what men made. “Salaries were lower regardless of education or job title. Women were more likely than men to have advanced degrees, particularly PhDs,” according to the results.
