The Fedora Project has officially released Fedora Linux 34, featuring a new logo along with many improvements.
Fedora Linux 34, according to the announcement, includes new Fedora editions targeted for the desktop, server and cloud environments, and the Internet of Things (IoT):
- Fedora Workstation focuses on the desktop, and is geared toward software developers who want a “just works” Linux operating system experience.
- Fedora CoreOS is an auto-updating, minimal operating system for running containerized workloads securely and at scale.
- Fedora IoT provides a strong foundation for IoT ecosystems and edge computing use cases.
Improvements include updated key programming language and system library packages for Ruby 3.0 and Golang 1.16. Fedora KDE Plasma now uses Wayland, rather than X11, as the default.
