Google has updated Google Maps to include a new COVID-19 layer to help show the number of cases in a given area.
As Frederic Lardinois reports, with the pandemic continuing to spread in many countries—and ahead of what many fear will be a second wave—Google Maps users can now enable this feature and see a color-coded map based on the number of cases per 100,000 people, as well as labels that indicate whether numbers are trending up or down.
