Registration is now open for Hacktoberfest, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The annual month-long hacking event encourages open source contributions through pull/merge requests in participating open source projects.
Things to know:
- You can register anytime between September 26 and October 31, 2023.
- Pull requests can be made in any GitHub or GitLab hosted project that’s participating in Hacktoberfest (look for the “hacktoberfest” topic.
- Your pull/merge requests must be accepted by project maintainers for them to count toward your total.
- The first 50,000 participants to have their first PR/MR accepted will have a tree planted in their name through Tree Nation.
